Υλαγγυλάγκη is a hapax legomenon of Katharevousa Greek.

It is a Hellenized rendition of Ylang-ylang, which has been adopted as a loanword (υλάνγκ-υλάνγκ or υλάγκ-υλάγκ) in everyday Greek.

The word occurs only once in “Psychology of Syriot husband”, a 1894 short story by Emmanouil Roidis and it was probably coined by him.[1]

An alternate spelling of the word (υλαγκυλάγκη instead of υλαγγυλάγκη) occurs in a different edition of Roidis' story and it probably is only a typographical error.[2]
