1. Background
Apostolos Tolis Ganas (26 June 1982[1] – 23 September 2012) was a Greek Twitter user (account name: @moloch82), who died of Ewing's sarcoma on 23 September 2012. His last wish was that his love for Maria (his significant other during the last 12 years of his life) should be expressed through the hashtag #TolislovedMaria.[2]
2. Legacy
On every September 23rd since 2012, Twitter users around the world have used the hashtag to commemorate the death and love of Tolis Ganas.[3]
